🌍 International Evening – Opening Night of the Grüne Soße Festival 2026
The Grüne Soße Festival has always been a meeting place for cultures from around the world.
“Grüne Soße for the world” has been more than a slogan – it has been our vision from the very beginning. International market stalls have long been an integral part of the festival, and for years the call for a dedicated international evening has grown louder.

In 2026, the time has finally come.

On Friday, 1 May 2026, we officially open the Grüne Soße Festival with a very special International Evening – featuring English-language moderation and show.

On this night, international restaurants from Frankfurt and the Rhine-Main region will compete against each other with their own creative interpretations of the classic Grüne Soße. It will be exciting to discover how different cultural influences are reflected in the sauce creations.
As on all festival evenings, the audience decides: the winning sauce of the International Evening qualifies directly for the grand finale on 9 May, where the audience will choose the overall winner from eight green sauces.

The evening will be hosted in English by presenter Andy Ost.
The stage show features the multi-award-winning British music comedy duo Carrington-Brown and of course Joe the Cello will be there as always.

With the International Evening, we place Frankfurt’s Grüne Soße into a truly international context and open the festival to an audience beyond language barriers. We warmly invite the international community in Frankfurt and the Rhine-Main area, as well as all locals who enjoy intercultural exchange, great food, and shared experiences.
